These terms cover using Chart Solar. The short version: it's a forecasting tool, we're independent, and the numbers are a distribution of outcomes you should sanity-check before signing anything.
A forecast, not financial advice.
Chart Solar produces a modelled distribution of outcomes for a residential solar decision. It is an analytical tool, not investment, tax, legal, or financial advice, and it is not a substitute for a professional site assessment. Every number traces to a model and an assumption you can challenge — read the methodology before you rely on it.
We work for the homeowner.
We are not affiliated with any installer, lender, or panel manufacturer. We do not sell leads and we take no commissions on a system you buy. Our only revenue is the credit packs described on the pricing page.
Upload what you have the right to.
When you upload an installer proposal you confirm you received it as a prospective customer and may submit it for your own analysis. We use it to generate your audit and retain the raw file — during our beta, also to improve our extraction system — until you ask us to delete it; deleting an audit yourself removes it from your account (see the Privacy page). A “confidential” stamp on a proposal binds the parties to it, not you as the recipient.
Credits are one-time, and sticky.
Credit packs are one-time purchases processed by Stripe. A purchase permanently unlocks the full forecast depth on your account and deposits proposal-audit credits, which are consumed one per audit. Prices are shown before checkout. For a billing problem or refund request, email legal@chart.solar.
Best-effort, with honest limits.
Forecasts depend on third-party data and assumptions that carry uncertainty, which every report states as a band and a set of caveats. We provide the service “as is,” without warranty that any outcome will match the forecast. To the extent the law allows, our liability arising from your use of Chart Solar is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Don't abuse the service.
Use Chart Solar for your own solar decisions. Don't scrape, resell, or bulk-extract our outputs, attempt to break authentication or rate limits, or upload documents you have no right to submit. We may suspend access that threatens the service or other users.
